Terzo Dalia has always been passionate of Ferraris and specifically of its engines.

After owning and driving a number of different Ferraris and always falling in love with the unique sound and the advanced engineering of their engines, the idea of creating a faithful and accurate 1/3 scale copy of a Ferrari engine was almost natural.

By sheer chance Dalia finished his first engine during the Golden jubilee of Ferrari, and managed to enroll himselve in the 50th Anniversary Ferrari model competition as organized by Ferrari in June 1997.

Dalia was nominated - Il mito nel modellismo - winning the first prize for his Ferrari 250 GT-Competition engine. The award was presented to him by Piero Ferrari as well as Ferrari President Luca Cordero di Montezemolo.

Terzo Dalia products are the result of painstaking research of the history of each model, of the materials used in the real Ferrari engines and of the engineering and production processes required to realize them.

The engine is a wonderful representation of the 60° 12 cylinder Colombo designed Ferrari 250 engine of the 60's. It's made with the same technique and material used, at that time, by the Ferrari factory: hand-formed sand casting of aluminium galsi-9, and other parts are turned stainless-steel.

More than 500 elements are professionally assembled by 470 screws. Everything is made with meticolous precision in order to get the best results also for the inside turning mechanism of the 12 pistons, connecting rods and the crankshaft, transmitting the rotation to the transmission shaft.

All the mechanisms are synchronized, by very precise gears, with the 3 outside pulleys : timing, air fan and dynamo, all connected by one belt made to measure, exactly like the original.

Every creation combines the exclusive quality of craftsmanship and limited production, with the best technology to meticulously reproduce the originals.

His passion allows him to realize products that not only are perfect 1/3 copies of Ferrari engines, but that are also beautiful mechanical pieces that you will enjoy for the rest of your life.

Terzo Dalia has a number of 1:3rd scale engine variations available covering the 250 SWB, the 250 GTO and the 312 T. Each engine is limited to a short maximum run and comes with a signed and numbered certificate.
